Journal #3: Week 6

How far along? 6 weeks
Baby size: Grain of rice; Averaging about 6 mm long and weighing 0.2 grams
Total weight gain/loss: Not sure, but I feel like I’ve gained 2 or 3 pounds L
Maternity clothes? Nope
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Sleeping very well, but I can’t sleep on my back for more than a few minutes; it starts to make me nauseous. Lots of naps though! If I don’t get a nap, I get realllly lazy.
Best moment this week: Realizing that I’m a week ahead of what I thought!

Movement: Nope
Food cravings: Applesauce, chocolate ice cream, and McDonald’s french fries and chicken nuggets (I never used to like McDonalds). But holy YUM!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Uhhh, everything. Especially the smell of cooking meat, my niece’s diaper, nasty sounds, my husband’s clam chowder- you name it. Even the sound of a cartoon making gurgling burping sounds makes me queasy.
Have you started to show yet: Is my belly sticking out yet- yes. Is it a baby belly- no.
Gender:  I have no idea. Maybe a boy?
Symptoms: Fatigue, nausea (thank goodness I haven’t thrown up), occasional back pains, moodiness
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Looking forward to: The END of the first trimester! I don’t want to be sick anymore!

This week, I have had some close calls with throwing up. Sometimes I won't feel queasy and then I hear someone say something gross and I was surprised that I almost lost it. I don't like feeling so vulnerable. I feel like I have to be so careful with what I hear or see because it might make me sick.
I haven't really been eating well either. Matt and I were coming home from his brothers house today and were both hungry, so we stopped at McDonalds. I hate McDonalds, it's disgusting! But today, ohhh, it tasted like pure heaven! Every salty potatoey french fry, every crispy deep fried chicken nugget-- ahhhhh. SO. GOOD. I've also given in to rocky road ice cream and banana pudding. Sometimes it's the only thing I can eat. It's so weird that everything in my fridge and cabinets turn me away!
This weekend we're driving up to Rexburg to see my brother's new baby! 6 hours in the car... wish me luck!
